Brokers

BlitzPulse supports several broker integrations. Which ones you see on your Settings → Connected accounts page depends on:

  1. Your subscription plan. See the pricing page for plan-by-plan capabilities.
  2. The integration’s current status. Some brokers are live today; others are in approval and shown as Coming soon until their licence lands.
  3. Tenant-level overrides. If your organisation has been granted early access to a broker that’s globally Coming soon, your account sees it as enabled.

If a broker tile says “Coming soon”, the connect button is disabled and the blurb on the tile explains what’s pending. We do not collect a waiting-list email by default — check back, or contact support if you want a heads-up when a specific broker goes live.

Currently supported live brokers

  • Charles Schwab — full live trading plus read-only positions, orders, quotes, and portfolio history. Requires Schwab API approval. You sign in on Schwab’s domain; we never see your Schwab credentials. See Connect Your Broker for the OAuth walkthrough.
  • Alpaca — equities and crypto via Alpaca OAuth.
  • Tradier — equities and options via Tradier OAuth.
  • Manual entry — type your positions in by hand. Useful for accounts that don’t expose an API, paper-trading sandboxes, or quick what-if scenarios.

Coming soon

These integrations are in development or awaiting partner approval. We update the tiles whenever a status changes; check Settings → Connected accounts for the latest.

What does each tile state mean?

TileWhat you can do

Vendor outages

If a broker is having a known outage, BlitzPulse may temporarily switch its tile to Coming soon with an outage-specific blurb. Existing connections continue to work — you’ll still see your positions, but new connections are paused until the vendor recovers. The tile copy will tell you what’s happening and the expected ETA.

Frequently asked questions

My broker tile vanished — what happened?

A few possibilities, in order of likelihood:

  1. Your plan changed. Check the pricing page for current broker capabilities.
  2. Vendor outage. Check Settings → Connected accounts in 5 minutes; we surface an outage banner on the tile when this happens.
  3. You’re already connected. The tile is replaced by your live account row showing positions / balances / disconnect button.

If none of those fit, contact support — link in the app footer.

I disconnected by mistake — can I reconnect?

Yes. The OAuth flow is the same as a first-time connection. Your broker account row is kept but marked disconnected. After re-connecting, the existing account row links back automatically.

What happens to my data when I disconnect Schwab?

When you disconnect Schwab, BlitzPulse immediately deletes the stored Schwab OAuth tokens and removes cached live-position data, live broker position snapshots, and derived open-lot state for that Schwab account. Those records are no longer useful once we cannot refresh them from Schwab.

BlitzPulse keeps Schwab transaction history, closed lots, order-matching records, reconciliation records, and disconnect audit entries for seven years. We retain those records for financial, tax, and regulatory support. They are marked with the disconnect time and excluded from real-time connected-account views.

What data does BlitzPulse store?

Per broker, we store an encrypted access + refresh token (rotated on the broker’s schedule), plus a copy of your positions, orders, transactions, and 1-second bar data so signals can compute offline. Encryption uses keys the infrastructure team rotates quarterly.

We do not store your broker username or password — the OAuth flow keeps those between you and the broker.

Can I connect more than one account at the same broker?

Yes. Schwab, for example, supports multiple Schwab accounts under one login. Each account appears as its own row in Settings → Connected accounts. The portfolio, trades, and analytics views aggregate across all your connected accounts; per-account drill-down is on the roadmap.

How do I see live updates from my broker?

Most brokers stream via WebSocket once you connect — quotes update every second when the market is open, positions update on each fill. You don’t need to refresh the page; the dashboard updates in place. Check the Live chip in the page header; if it says Connecting, the stream is reconnecting (usually clears within 10 seconds).
